Chocolate Pound Cake

  • 1/2 Cup cocoa
  • 3 Cups flour
  • 3 Cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Cup shortening
  • 1 1/4 Cups milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • directions

  • Mix dry ingredients with shortening until it resembles corn meal.
  • Mix in milk. Beat 2 minutes.
  • Add eggs and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes
  • Pour into a greased and floured pound cake pan.
  • Bake at 325 degrees 1 hour 20 minutes.
